Lessons-2-Learn

Listen up everybody! I’ve got something to say,
So put your toys down and turn your heads this way.
Turn off your video games, I-pods away,
We’re gonna learn some lessons and we’re starting today...

Sharing, caring, table manners,
Staying organized with planners.
Honesty and don’t’ talk back.
Wearing sunscreen on your back.

Look both ways and keep your room neat.
Don’t tattle tale and never ever cheat.
If you don’t understand then raise your hand.
It’s just as fun to play in the band.

You fool, no one's too cool school.
Be careful when you use that tool.
If you hear thunder, out of the pool.
Listening to your parents is the golden rule.

Doing your homework will get you far.
Always buckle up in the bus or the car.
You’re perfect just the way you are,
Remember that, you’ll be a star.

The more you give, the more you get.
Ignore adults you’ve never met.
Take out the trash and walk your pet.
Say no to that cigarette!

Do all these things, always remember,
New Year’s Day through til December,
Play sure is fun, but school is cooler.
Now that this poem's done, get out your ruler!

Antonyms

Hello Goodbye, or, Bye and Hi,
Are opposites, like Gal and Guy.
See without one, there is no other,
No Grandpa without Grandmother.

The fancy term is Antonym,
Whose opposite is Synonym.
But not all words have antonyms,
Like jewelry, green, or cinnamon.

There can't be High without a Low,
There can't be Stop without a Go,
There is no Hide without a Show.
We need a Yes, to have a No.

See, without Blow how can you Suck?
Some say it's Fate, while some say Luck.
Big and Small, Short and Tall,
Summer Winter, Spring and Fall.

Now Forever, Always-Never.
Skinny Fat, or Dumb and Clever.
Rich and Poor, Ceiling Floor,
Whisper Scream, Less and More.

Not to say that Evil should,
Be recognized as much as Good.
Some things are Bad and though it's Sad,
It's nice to see the Good in Glad.

We ought to know the positive,
Instead of Die, we strive to Live,
Let's tell the Truth and never Lie,
Don't ever steal but always buy.

Let's not be Still, we ought to Move,
Don't Make-things-Worse, try to Improve.
Let's not delay, no let's not Wait,
To Start each day with Love not Hate.

Always Never

Always look both ways. Never play with matches.
Always use a glove for those outfield catches.
Never use Daddy’s tools, Always sharp and frightening.
Never go in the pool when there’s thunder or lightning.

Where you’re running around,
And having outdoor fun,
And you’re not in the shade,
But in the light of the sun,
Your body gets exposed,
To this dangerous ray,
That can hurt you really bad,
When all you want to do is play.

I know it never really seems,
Like you’re hurting your skin,
But if you don’t wear a shirt,
Then you’re letting it win.
And when you’re older you could get,
A really terrible disease,
So always put on sunblock everywhere,
Even on your knees.

Always buckle up on the bus, in the car.
Don’t forget the water when you’re hiking far.
Never drink lots of soda, just a little for a treat.
Remember green luscious veggies are the best things to eat.

When you’re about to cross the street,
Or at a big intersection,
Before you move your feet,
Take a moment for reflection.
Listen for sounds and look around,
For cars in all directions bound.
Use all your senses,
To make this vital detection.

Once the car have stopped,
Or once the street is clear,
And when your light turns green,
Then you’ve got nothing to fear.
So just make sure that you stay,
Skipping in the walkway,
And jump around, have fun in town,
Everyday, all day!

Always eat wealthy, rich in calcium ad fiber.
Always keep your teeth healthy, brush’n’flossing makes them whiter.
Give your sister lots of hugs, Never hurt her or bite her
And finally, Always be nice, it makes the world a lot brighter :-)

Yummy Tummy

"Yummy yummy yummy, time to satisfy my tummy.
If I don’t eat soon then I’m gonna feel crummy.
Mom n dad are cooking,
But I’m just looking,
At the TV, silly me,
Who would know that I’m hungry?
Maybe I should ask if they,
are gonna need some help today."

In fact you should ask every meal,
Think about how your parents feel.
They make you dinner, make you lunch,
Breakfast, snacks and sometimes brunch.
Eggs n bacon, munch munch munch,
And if you’re lucky Captain Crunch.
Other guidelines you should know,
Like how the dishes come and go.
You’re perfectly able to clear the table,
Time to assist so turn off the cable.
Manners matter majorly,
So learn these just like 1,2,3:

Chew mouth closed, elbows down,
Help whenever you’re around.
Set the table, enough places,
For your family’s hungry faces.
Plate in the middle,
with a fork on the right,
Spoon, knife on the left,
can’t wait for a bite,
Of the turkey or the beef or the veggie dish
Or the soup or the salad with the tuna fish

Remember to take off your hats.
Don’t forget the napkins or the table mats.
Wait for everyone to sit,
Then you begin,
To make disappear,
The tasty din-din.
Pass the peas please,
Keep down those knees.
Don’t reach across to grab the blue cheese.
That’s not polite,
It’s an ugly site,
Asking for help means you’re doing it right.
Say thank you when the favor’s done.
Being polite makes eating fun.

"Yummy yummy yummy, I just satisfied my tummy.
Since I helped with the meal I never had to feel crummy.
After dessert I thanked my parents again,
And even asked if I could wash the dirty dishes for them."
